About Us
We met on a blind date in the fall of 2001, fell in love, and became engaged a year later. Our Yosemite wedding in 2003 was a wonderful day surrounded by friends and family. We now look forward to sharing the love that we have for each other with a child.

About Bob
Bob is a prince of a husband. He is a software engineer and much of his career has been designing electronics for airplanes. He is a private pilot and hooked me with an airplane date flying over the Golden Gate Bridge, but he kept me with his gentle kindness and sense of humor. He looks forward to playing at the park with our child and at the end of the day tucking him or her in and reading bedtime stories.

Our Adventures
We love to play outdoors. A typical weekend will find us camping in the Sierras, riding our tandem bicycle, or playing in our kayak. Our summer vacations have included camping in Yellowstone and rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon. In the winter we love to ski in Tahoe and we usually travel to Colorado to ski with Bob’s family as well. Bob is a private pilot and we enjoy airplane excursions to the beach at Half Moon Bay. We enjoy traveling and have been to Italy and Mexico. We look forward to sharing these adventures with our child and exposing him or her to the many wonderful cultures of this world.

Parenthood
We love playing with our friends’ children and our young relatives and eagerly look forward to adopting a child. We look forward to sharing our love with a baby and nurturing him or her through life’s first adventures: the first smile, the first steps, the first words, potty training, and that important first day at school. We hope that you will be able to share in celebrating these achievements.

We anticipate weekends in Yosemite exploring the valley and then toasting marshmallows by the campfire. At home, Karin loves homemade breakfast; mornings start with the family around the breakfast table. She also loves to bake and would enjoy a little helper to decorate Christmas cookies. Bob would like to share his love of photography with a child, just as his father did with him. Karin has always been active in Girl Scouts and Bob was a Cub Scout, so we hope our child will be active in Scouting, too.

Karin looks forward to working part-time after the baby arrives. Bob will have the freedom to work from home occasionally. We know that

Our Family
Our family is very important to us. Bob has a large extended family; each of his parents has six siblings. Both families are quite close and we get together regularly. His dad’s family is centered in Omaha while his mother’s family is a little more scattered, but the family gathers in Denver. One of Bob’s cousins is adopted and we’ve seen first hand how wonderful open adoption can be. Karin’s family is as small as Bob’s is large. Her parents and sisters live in Southern California. We will bring a young baby into a large and loving family full of three sets of grandparents as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Everyone is very excited to welcome a new baby into the family.
